If you are like most Americans, you are probably looking to lose weight, trim down, lower cholesterol, and lead a generally healthy and active lifestyle, but just can’t ever seem to manage a long term change. She maintains that by adopting the French way of eating, Americans can learn to lose weight and keep it off without any diet plans!
Guilano’s diet can be completely heart healthy, which means if you need to lower cholesterol or have concerns about hypertension, it can work for you too! Be sure to combine a healthy diet with medical treatment. Speak to your doctor about what medication is best for you. Some popular medications include: Lipitor, Zocor, and Zetia.
The great thing about the French Women Don’t Get Fat diet, is that you can eat bread and drink wine without feeling guilty. In fact, you never have to feel guilty about food again! It’s basically a matter of checks and balances. Simply eat healthy, delicious foods in moderate quantities. Treat yourself and enjoy, but if you choose to indulge yourself, do so consciously by thinking about how you will compensate for it later that day.
Here are some tips to get you started:
1. Drink water.
2. Plan healthy meals and menus in advance. Enjoy dining in, and entertain at home. Put effort into food presentation.
3. Eat thoughtfully and consciously, and for pleasure.
4. Walk. Choose stairs instead of elevators. Incorporate exercise into your daily routine, and you won’t need to go to the gym.
5. Respect yourself and your body. Dress well no matter where you are going. Enjoy the simple pleasures in life. Never put yourself on a formal diet.

Whatever the diet may be, if it tells us to avoid junk and processed food, then it is probably going to work. Junk and processed food is the number one factor people getting so fat in the first place. We have to revert to diet before civilization and consume food close to their natural state, as their nutrients and minerals are preserved.
