Here is yet another diet where the creator of the diet (Roger Corder) so brilliantly decides to stick in a generally indulgent food (or drink in this case) and make it healthy. These are my kinds of diets!

The Red Wine Diet was released in 2007 and to much acclaim. Many studies in the recent past have shown just how healthy red wine is for your heart and for lowering cholesterol, and now, for weight loss as well.

Don’t get me wrong-this is not a diet about indulgence, but about moderation. The key is not to drink so much wine that you then end up puking up your food; the idea is to learn how to drink red wine moderately and responsibly so you get all the benefits and none of the detriments.

The benefits: Red wine (sort of like chocolate, but even more so) is packed with flavonoids polyphenols which are great for promoting heart health and ridding the body of clogged arteries.

The good news for wine lovers is that you can eat a balanced diet and drink one or two glasses of wine a day and the wine will magically (or scientifically, if you want to be exact) prevent clogged arteries, reduce high blood pressure, lower cholesterol, and therefore help you lose weight. You’ll have more energy (maybe not directly after drinking a glass of wine, but in general) which will help you exercise more.

Make sure that if you’re taking diet pills (like Phentermine or Meridia/Reductil) that you don’t take the pill with a glass of wine, but with a glass of water.

And speaking of diet pills, the Red Wine Diet also works for people who don’t like red wine. Those same antioxidants that are found in red wine are also found in red berries, like raspberries, strawberries, and acai. An easier (and more affordable way) to get those same flavonoids polyphenols is to buy Acai Effect online. It’s another easy way to lose weight fast!
